My recent trip to Southern California… Unsoulful.

I had a great weekend with some friends and family. We attended the Long Beach Grand Prix, but The racing was awesome! I couldn’t help but be disappointed in the people and the smog, the lack of attention to realness. So this is what came of it…

Unsoulful

Polluted beaches, polluted minds, polluted air,
What brings people here, should I even care
Am I wrong for seeing the beauty, struggle from below.
So much potential, yet, I can’t even get a ‘hello’

Unsoulful…

Everyone is screaming for attention,
Every being feels they go unmentioned.
Everything is screaming for attention,
People, Plants, animals, wrapped in tension.

Unsoulful, a life without meaning.
This place could use a little cleaning,
Unsoulful, a life of dreaming,
This dream could use a little greening.

Such a beautiful place, but such a rapid pace,
So many angry faces, crowded in these spaces,
Purple hills yelling for oxygen,
Muted by faces full of collagen.

Unsoulful, a life without meaning.
This place could use a little cleaning,
Unsoulful, a life of dreaming,
This dream could use a little greening.

Beaches smothered in fake facades.
Where loving the earth, you are odd.
Smog covering all, by the bowl full.
People, living meaningless, unsoulful.

Why I am here…

So I don’t like using the social “place for friends” type of websites because they don’t really fit who I am as a person. I do however want to be able to share what is going on with me in my life with the people who are important to me. So this is a place for me to not only hold myself accountable, but have the people that love me simply do the same with a simple “How is this goal coming along?”

Here is a list of of things I am working on right now…
If you have any insight on how I can accomplish any of them, feel free to let me know in any way you feel comfortable.

1. Moving to Austin – The growth that I have had is easily seen by those who love me since Brianna came into my life. This is the first step on my path to realizing my dreams. So many of my dreams, really. I can’t wait for the ‘spreading of my wings’, to get there and be scared because I have to start over essentially. I think it will be the best thing I have ever done.
2. Play Baseball - I am going to try out for some form of Professional Baseball within the next two years. I can accept failure, but I cannot accept not trying.
3. Writing - I am going to write song lyrics, and get paid to do so. I am also going to write for a magazine, or write a book.
4. Cars -
A. This is something I have half-assed my whole life. I am going to start my own business, Tuning Garage, and not half ass it. Starting with a serious Business plan worthy of being seen by investors. The first completed version will be done by years end.
B. My Integra will be in a magazine within the next 3 years. I have neglected it long enough.
C. I am going to get an Impala, everyone who knows me, knows how long I have wanted one. 1963 Convertible.

All of these things, are also part of a common goal, of getting out of debt. I bought into the idea of chasing the American Dream, instead of my own, leaving me with quite a bit of IOU’s. I am positive that by going after the above mentioned list, my debt will be dissipated in the process.

I am going to keep adding my dreams to the list. These are the ones I want to start by putting out there. It’s time. Let me know what you think.

I decided i needed a place to write, a place to share, place to be ME and allow my friends, family, and whomever else comes across this page on their path…
